Nanci M. House graduated magna cum laude from Transylvania University with a B.A. in History and a minor in Political Science in 2000. While at Transylvania she was Chief Hearing Officer for the Student Judicial Board was involved in many other extracurricular, service and community organizations She graduated cum laude from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2003, was in the top 11% of her class and received the CALI award in Torts. While at UK law school, she was an editor for the Kentucky Law Journal, was a member of the Honor Council, was a member of the Trial Advocacy Board and was President of the Women's Law Caucus and was historian for Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity.
Nanci was sworn in as a member of the Kentucky Bar Association in 2003 and has practiced law at White, McCann & Stewart, PLLC since that time. Nanci is also licensed to practice law in federal court, in the Eastern District of Kentucky. Nanci’s practice is varied and includes all areas of family law, including but not limited to divorce, adoption, appeals, grandparents rights, custody, child support, timesharing, pre-nuptial agreements, paternity, termination of parental rights, guardianship, abuse, neglect, dependency and extensive work as a Guardian Ad Litem for Children. Nanci’s practice also includes criminal defense, including violations, misdemeanors and felonies. Nanci also handles Social Security Disability cases, both SSI and RSDI, personal injury, nursing home neglect actions, wrongful death, premises liability, dog bite cases, slip and fall cases, medical malpractice, general civil litigation, administrative law, professional license issues, contract formations and disputes, business entity formation and dissolution, real property disputes, collections (plaintiff and defense). Nanci became a partner at White, McCann % Stewart, PLLC in 2008.
Nanci is also an active member of the Junior League of Lexington and has served on various boards and committees in the Junior League. Nanci is a board member of Chrysalis House and has had extensive training regarding family drug court. Nanci has been a regular volunteer at the Kentucky Horse Park and has volunteered with Clark County Teen Court. Nanci was the 2013 recipient of the Kentucky Bar Association's Young Lawyer Service to the Community Award.
