Tyler Koch has dedicated her career to helping individuals who have been victimized and neglected. Since 2012, she has focused her practice on nursing home abuse and neglect, medical malpractice, healthcare fraud, and denial of nursing home residents’ rights. Tyler has helped hundreds of people and their families receive justice after being harmed in a nursing home, hospital, personal care home, assisted living facility, or other long term care facility. Tyler’s practice involves investigations into violations of state and Federal regulations, navigating the intricate Medicare billing systems and the fraud that sometimes accompanies it, and breaking down the complex corporate structure of nursing home conglomerates.
Tyler grew up in Lexington, Kentucky. After graduating from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, she received her Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, and Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Alabama in 2000 and 2003, respectively. While in law school, Tyler received the Birmingham Bar Association Women’s Division Scholarship and was president of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society.
Prior to entering civil practice, Tyler worked as a felony prosecutor in Lexington, Kentucky and Birmingham, Alabama. Tyler has tried more than fifty jury trials, both civil and criminal and in state and Federal courts. Tyler served as an instructor at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina and has trained police officers, forensic interviewers, and other attorneys on a variety of topics.
Tyler is licensed to practice law in Kentucky, Alabama, and Georgia. Tyler is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts of Eastern and Western Kentucky and Northern, Middle, and Southern Alabama. She is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
In her free time, Tyler enjoys cooking, reading, and running. Tyler is the proud mother of two boys, Jack and Connor.
