Wesley A. Gersh is the founder of Gersh Law Offices, P.S.C., a law firm focused mainly on estate planning and administration, as well as elder law matters such as qualification for Medicaid and veterans’ benefits.

Experience

Mr. Gersh has been in private practice since 1978.  Prior to that, he served as a trial attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he investigated and prosecuted federal securities fraud cases throughout the United States.  He is licensed to practice law in Kentucky.  Mr. Gersh is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys.  He has served as the president of the International Association for Financial Planning, and has also hosted a radio call-in show about estate planning titled, “You Can’t Take It With You”, and co-authored the book Guiding Those Left Behind In Kentucky, a primer on how to settle an estate in Kentucky.  Mr. Gersh earned a B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University and his law degree from University of Louisville, with honors.  He was an Editor of the University of Louisville Law Review.

Mr. Gersh is a member of the Louisville, Kentucky, and the American Bar Associations and American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. 

Personal

Mr. Gersh has volunteered his time as a  board member and officer of many charitable and civic organizations, including the March of Dimes Foundation, The Entrepreneur Society and Temple Shalom (all of which he served as president), the Louisville Third Century, and the Louisville Theatrical Association.  He currently chairs the Board of Directors of Bridgehaven and previously chaired the Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce.
