OUTCOME: Child restored to mother

Custody petition was filed two take a newborn from the mother by the grandparents. Mother did not understand that she need to file response before the deadline. Grandparents moved for default judgment ... and got it. Grandparents then showed up with the police and remove the child from the mother. We filed the responsive pleading and motion to alter amend or vacate. Child was restored to mother. The petition had falsely given the impression to the judge that the grandparents had had the child since birth.
