The founder of the Law Offices of John Schmidt & Associates PLLC, John has a personal devotion to help struggling families. The happiness and welfare of clients are extremely important to John, which is why he stresses that clients come to healthy solutions in their cases.
John grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and put himself through college and graduate school at the University of Kentucky. Later, he completed the Six Six Sigma Green and Lean programs at Villanova University and worked as a special education teacher, prosecutor, turn-around executive and consultant before going into private practice.
He is very active with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and other charities, which have come to influence his view on how he practices law. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that causes mucus to be thicker than normal. The thicker mucus causes issues in the pancreas, lungs and digestive tract. However, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made great strides so those with the condition can live longer, healthier and more active lives.

As this was my first time needing a lawyer, I was nervous and unsure what to expect. John never hesitated to answer my questions and explain them more than once if I was confused. He led me through my divorce process with confidence and reassurance. John was kind, yet direct and talked me through a...

This lawyer is working with the state on some cases, he picks and choose which child he is going to save... He allows the state to make all recommendations that goes against you and doesn't challenge them to save your case... He refused to present my evidence of a CPS worker wrongfully going to the ...
I think it’s good advice to come to court sober and not reeking of illegal drugs. I think it’s also good advice to heed a judges warning about being disruptive in court so that you don’t get kicked out of the court room. I think it’s good advice to stick around if you do get kicked out so that you can come into the court room when called as a witness so you can testify. I think it’s good advice to work your case plan if you have been through a trial and found guilty and then been through another hearing where the case plan is court ordered. I think it’s also good advice not to post on social media things that could be taken as threatening to people who are participating in the litigation. I think it’s generally good advice to refrain from posting pictures of an illegal drug with comments about continued drug use and CPS when you are required to be clean and compliant with court orders. I think it’s good advice not to post pictures of you holding sums of cash as well as other pictures of cash when you are alleging that you can’t afford to pay for things that your court ordered to pay. I think it is generally good advice to talk about the substance of the case, instead of always yelling and screaming racism, especially if there is proof establishing an issue that is not in your favor and court findings after having an evidentiary hearing. We’ve all seen a political party yell “Russia, Russia, Russia” and “Racism, racism, racism” to try to win the argument, but that’s not effective in the court of law especially when the facts are not in your favor. In fact, misbehaving in court and being disruptive will often times get you thrown out of court, or even walked out of court through the back door, where you will be fashionably clad in orange. I think it’s generally good advice to avoid either of these outcomes.

Long but worth the read if you plan on hiring Mr. John Schmidt. My fiance was in an auto accident due to a medical emergency he was having. He was given a citation and a court date at the hospital by the police. We assumed with the proper medical records to prove the accident was due to a medical ...
