OUTCOME: Custody to father

Recently, I was able to get custody for my client, the father of the parties' two children. We were able to show the Court that mother, who previously had custody, had a pattern of substance abuse and ... irresponsible behavior, and ultimately the Court awarded custody changed, giving custody to my client, the father.

Client received his 7th lifetime charge of driving under the influence, and on the 6th offense, client was convicted of a felony and served 6 months in prison. I was able to get the client into aggres ... sive treatment and persuade the court that the 7th OVI was a slip up for a client who had been sober after getting out of prison more than 10 years ago. The client did well in treatment and I was able to persuade the judge and prosecutor to allow him to plead no contest to a misdemeanor OVI, despite having a previous felony OVI on his record.

Felony Drug Trafficking Case Reduced to Misdemeanor

Client was charged with 3 counts of F3 heroin trafficking and 1 count of F5 heroin possession, and was facing the forfeiture of his firearms and cash. This was the result of an undercover investigation ... conducted by local police, involving a confidential informant who wore a wire and told police client had dealt drugs to her. Police then executed a search warrant, and conducted a raid. Was able to convince prosecutor that client was a bystander and had no direct involvement and got charges dropped to a single misdemeanor. Additionally, the State gave back client's firearms and cash seized.
