James Patrick Sheppard

I am the founder of Sheppard Law Firm located in Jackson, Mississippi. As a Jackson native, I am deeply connected to this community and dedicated to serving its residents with integrity and commitment.

I established Sheppard Law Firm with a focus on personal injury law, adhering to our motto, “Go Where the Injured Go!” My goal is to provide exceptional legal services to those who need it most, ensuring each client receives personalized attention and dedicated representation. Our services also extend to criminal defense, estate planning, real estate closings, and more.

Before founding Sheppard Law Firm, I gained extensive experience at Porter & Malouf, P.A., where I specialized in multidistrict litigation and personal injury. I clerked for Judge Taylor B. McNeel at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi, enhancing my legal acumen and understanding of the judicial process.

I graduated magna cum laude from Mississippi College School of Law in 2021, where I served as Editor-in-Chief of the Mississippi College Law Review and received numerous accolades for my contributions. My academic journey also includes a bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Latin from Loyola University New Orleans, where I was actively involved as Student Body President and Chief Justice of the student body.

In addition to my professional endeavors, I am actively engaged in the Jackson community. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi and am a member of the Board of Governors for the Mississippi Association for Justice (MAJ). I have also been recognized with the Jackson Young Lawyers Association’s Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award.

My wife Emily and I are eagerly expecting our first child this August. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and our pets.
