Posted by Michael | January 28, 2026 | Hired Attorney | Child Support

Be extremely careful with this lawyer and firm

I hired this attorney because of knowing her through middle school and viewing her as someone that seemed like a positive individual back then. In the beginning, she gave me the impression that she was gonna handle my case properly and efficiently. This was a child support case with bogus information... that had been provided to the court and fraudulent documents were found to be used by the other party and my case now had potentially criminal elements involved by the opposing party. After me hiring this firm, the opposing party hired an attorney that knows my lawyer and was later told to me they had a friendship relationship, inwhich I feel changed and impacted the way my case began to be handled once this opposing party hired this person, strategically. The opposing party also had a working relationship under a judge in our same county as well, inwhich I also feel impacted the handling of my case. The information and evidence we had should have been a no brainer in court, but this lawyer that I had began to sway me into settling without taking the matter before the court, inwhich would disclose everything in entirety, including the fraudulent elements the opposing party had done. I kept telling my lawyer that I didn't feel what they were trying to settle for was fair to me and that if they couldn't do everything absolutely fair and correct what was the issue with arrearages that were awarded to the opposing party through fraudulent information provided to the court when I went by myself before hiring this attorney, I wanted to go to court and let the judge hear testimony and see the evidence. Once I didn't give in, my lawyer started pressing me saying it would cost more money now to follow through and this amount was excessive. The excessive amount was to deter me from wanting to continue in court and simply settle. I told her that I didn't have it at the moment, but will pay it anyway through payments and sign whatever I needed to in order to go forward at whatever later date that court date was scheduled. Time went by before I was called by one of their secretaries stating that she would be recusing herself from my case out of the blue, inwhich we had never talked about. After all the years of knowing this lawyer, she absolutely shocked me with this and lied about why she recused herself to the bar after I filed a complaint. I would not recommend this lawyer or anybody that is in any kind of a buddy buddy circle, that puts their friendship over something this important and basically sell the clients out. I 100% know see what folks talk about after this situation. Later on after this happened to me, others in the public started telling me their negative situations they had as well, inwhich had I known beforehand, I woulda never believed, simply because of me thinking of how I viewed this individual over 30 years ago in high school. People change and that's the way I see this entire experience.
