I hired Robertson + Easterling specifically for Matt Easterling’s reputation and leadership in family law. His attorney bio features the Mike Tyson quote, “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” Unfortunately, that quote sums up my experience with the firm — they got hit in the mou...th and never got back up. Once retained, nearly all of the actual work on my case — filings, communications, and strategy — was handled by junior associates and staff. Matt had minimal direct involvement and offered little guidance or oversight despite being lead counsel. I did not hire this firm for their junior team; I hired them for Matt’s expertise and courtroom experience, which I did not receive. If you’re considering this firm, I strongly recommend confirming in writing who will actually handle your case day to day and what level of involvement you can expect from the senior attorney.
