Posted by Cynthia | July 11, 2020 | Hired Attorney | Probate

Don’t hire an attorney from Leake county MS for probate representation!!

I hired an attorney in 2013 to force the executor to begin the probate Process of a Last Will and testament. Even though there were two court hearings this process is still pending as of July 2020. My attorney has done nothing to finalize this process. I will give him credit for assisting me in obt...aining the title deed to real property but the process stopped right there. The executor has refused to complete the probate process and the Mississipi court system has not made any effort to schedule future court dates Nor has the assigned judge ordered the executor to close the probate. This state’s court system has allowed the the executor to get away with stealing valuable personal property, etc with no accountability or restitution. But instead of my attorney requesting the judge/court system to order the executor to complete this process I was given false representation on how to proceed. It seems the lawyers, judge and court staff are all in cahoots with each other to receive payment for doing absolutely nothing. All the options my attorney presented to close this probate were unacceptable and a way to get more money from me. Initially my attorney was returned my phone calls but stopped returning my calls in 2018 and failed to even send the legal documentation to serve the executor to appear in court to finalize this probate process. My attorney fabricated all the things he said he would do for my case but actually did Nothing. He even fabricated the assigned Judges clerk was out due to brain surgery as an excuse not to request a subsequent court date in 2018-19.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
