Unnecessarily Very Painful Experience

His communication style is no less than absolute arrogance. 99% of the time his facial expressions, tone, body language & verbal responses to my questions were so humiliating, that I found myself in tears, & fear of communicating further with him. He spoke arrogantly to me for not knowing the answ...ers to my own questions, & then boasted of his hourly rate of pay. His office has had a very high turnover of female employees, some of which at times revealed they too were stressed by his ill treatment of them. I thought his disrespectful attitude meant he would be very good in court, so I only hired him out of desperation. I didn't realize it was only toward women. After he financially gouged me, & did very little actual work for my case, he mentioned that I could pay him more fees from my non-liquid assets later. He had already given me some very bad advice, & added a request to my case that I did not want, which caused a great amountof backlash & personal distress. I finally hired a new attorney, who respectfully completed my entire case for less than 50% of his ongoing fees. I'm very sorry, I don't enjoy reporting anything negative regarding any person, but I do hope that he will change his ways for the better, & I can save someone else the stress he caused me.

Arrogant, irresponsible and borderline abusive

I hired Mark Shelton on the advice of someone that had used him in a divorce six or seven years ago. She spoke highly of him-that he responded to phone calls, etc promptly and was a tiger in court. Although he may be knowledgeable, he negated any positives by yelling at me, dismissing me, and once g...etting angry and walking out leaving me sitting there...and never returned. His administrative staff, although well intentioned, is incompetent as well. I hesitate to speak negatively of them because I was told by one of them that he is verbally abusive in the office, as well. Going through a divorce/custody battle leaves one vulnerable. To (over)pay a professional that not only isn't supportive, but is hostile at times, is unconscionable.
