also known as J. L. Smith
Jacqueline Smith is an education advocate and family law attorney practicing throughout the state. Smith is also a Mississippi Bar certified Guardian ad litem and Mediator. Prior to becoming an advocate, Smith was an Assistant District Attorney in the fourth Judicial District of Mississippi. Smith has also worked as a prosecutor for the Department of Human Services Child Support Division.
Before returning home to the Mississippi Delta, Smith worked as executive assistant to Archbishop Emeritus Desmond M. Tutu during his tenure at Emory University. Working with Archbishop Tutu offered a glimpse into the struggles and challenges of post-Apartheid South Africa, and inspired Smith to return to Mississippi to practice law and dedicate her work to her home state.
When not at work, Smith plays an active role in her community as counsel for the Floyd and Bessie Johnson Foundation. She is an attorney-coach for the Greenville High School Mock Trial team, and an actor and director at the community theater. Smith is also a recipient of the 2015 Curtis E. Coker Access to Justice Award for providing free legal services in Washington County.

Fair and knowledgable
From day 1 Attorney Smith answered all my questions and told me all the. She charged me a fair price and completed my case in less than 6 months. I appreciate how she always called me back and didn't put me off like others.
