I had an absolutely horrible experience with Michelle Crawford. I contacted her to arrange a payment for a Homeowner's Association fee which I did not know was past due. Instead of working with me to resolve the issue, she made it extremely difficult, including quadrupling the amount that we owed e...ven though we had proof the we had paid all of our dues. She failed to work with me or provide any assistance in resolving the issue. Instead of acknowledging the mismanagement of the funds, she tried to blame it on us, the homeowners. After many attempts to resolve the issue and providing her with all of the proof that she requested, I received an email from her that said, "Your attitude is not gaining any sympathy on my end. If I took every homeowner’s word for it that they paid it or the check was in the mail, I would be doing my client a disservice. If you want to produce cancelled checks to show you paid the previous years, I invite you to do so and I will happily credit the account. I would have likely been sympathetic had you been reasonable and courteous and waived a portion of the attorney fees but your demeanor towards me ruined any chance of that. Please either pay the amounts as directed below or produce the cancelled checks to adjust the account. I will no longer respond to emails such as the one below." In order to provide a fair review, I have also included the email she references: "We also paid in 2018. It is not my problem if their ledger is not accurate. Please call them and ask them to make it accurate if necessary. It is obvious that the balance owed is EXACTLY what I said, and the only reason that year was not paid it because I already paid it and they did not transfer the balance from the prior management company. This is absolutely ridiculous that I have to go through this when you can SEE THAT THE BALANCE OWED IS THE $400. I am just trying to make an effort to pay (again) the year that was in question. Why are you making this so difficult?" Also full disclosure, this is the first encounter I have ever had with an attorney. Perhaps this is par for the course, but I must say that I prefer to NEVER have another interaction with an attorney after my brief but frustrating experience with Michelle.
