Megan R. House

Megan House Wilson, a native Memphian, started her legal career working at a small firm in Memphis handling a variety of matters including landlord-tenant disputes, juvenile court matters, criminal defense and divorces. Megan enjoyed her work but quickly realized her passion was representing individuals entrenched in contested family law matters and in 2016 began focusing on serving clients in the areas of divorce, child custody, child support and post-divorce matters. The gratification Megan obtains from assisting her clients in oftentimes the most difficult time of their lives drives Megan to fiercely advocate for them in Court. Never one to back down from a fight, Megan quickly established herself as a rising star in the Memphis divorce bar regularly going toe to toe with some of Memphis’ so called “divorce sharks” and routinely obtaining favorable results for her clients at trial.

While she relishes the opportunity to take unreasonable litigants and attorneys to trial to achieve her clients’ desired results, Megan understands that protracted litigation sometimes only further fractures the family dynamic, particularly with minor children. Megan also appreciates that contested divorce can become expensive, and for that reason, she prides herself on always working closely with her clients from the outset of the representation to determine their objectives, assess the reasonableness of their goals and likelihood of success and establish a clearly defined game plan for moving forward. While some attorneys in the divorce bar plant unrealistic expectations in their clients’ minds, preying on their emotionally weakened state for their own financial gain, Megan listens closely to her clients and does everything within her power to resolve matters amicably outside of court when possible.

Megan brings the same tenacity and experience to her clients who are charged with criminal offenses and has extensive litigation experience representing individuals charged with misdemeanors and felonies in a variety of criminal defense matters.
