Scott Mclean Douglass

I litigate trademark, copyright, patent, and related business disputes in federal district and appellate courts. I also advise businesses and individuals on trademark and copyright issues to develop, protect, enforce, defend, and enhance their brands. I help clients acquire trademark registrations and copyright registrations and resolve refusals and disputes at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and U.S. Copyright Office. 

As part of my practice to help clients establish and protect their intellectual property rights, I also counsel clients on a variety of licenses, distribution agreements, franchise agreements, non-disclosure agreements, transactional due diligence, and related contract issues. I routinely advise clients on software licenses, trademark and brand licenses, patent licenses, copyright and content licenses, data privacy issues, and other intellectual property matters.

During law school, I clerked for two federal magistrate judges and interned in the General Counsel’s Office of a publicly traded corporation. Prior to law school, I worked as a legislative aide to two United States Senators in Washington, DC.
