Jason Thaddeus Murphy

Born in Joplin, Missouri, Jason has lived most of his life in Knoxville, Tennessee.  He graduated from the University of Tennessee first in 1996 with a B.S. and then in 1999 with his J.D.  After graduation, Jason worked as in-house counsel for a major title insurance company. Three years later he joined the firm of Frantz, McConnell and Seymour, LLP as an associate attorney.  In 2005, Jason took a position as General Counsel for a prestigious construction and development company headquartered in Knoxville.  He worked in that position for 6 years until he left for a position at another Knoxville firm. In 2016, Jason returned home to Frantz, McConnell & Seymour, LLP.

Jason primarily focuses his practice on representing clients in complex real estate and corporate transactions, real estate development, landlord / tenant as well as zoning and land use. He also represents clients in construction matters and property tax appeals.

Jason has been involved with several legal organizations including the Knoxville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and the Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel. He has arbitrated in front of the American Arbitration Association.  Jason is also a member of the Rotary Club of Knoxville.  In 2014 and 2015, he was named one of Knoxville’s Top Attorneys in both Real Estate Finance and Construction Law by CityView Magazine.

Away from the office, Jason enjoys spending time with his family.  He loves the outdoors, particularly hiking, fly fishing and hunting. He also volunteers at Helen Ross McNabb and Mobile Meals.
