I consulted with Mr. Hickman to handle a legal matter concerning my husband. I don't understand the bad reviews because I was treated very well. The secretary was always courteous. She did put people to voice mail when I was in the office. She told me she does this so that others don't hear about o...ther cases. Which to me , is very ethical. She also returns calls. I have no problem with communication. Mr. Hickman is and was very knowledgeable on my case and handled things wonderfully. I would recommend him to anyone.

Pretty much what other reviewer has said. Takes money then does minimum of work. Will not return emails or phone calls. The only way to contact or talk to him or his secretary is to show up unannounced at their office. Then they give you the same old " we had an emergency so we could not call you" Do...es none and mean NO paper work and will not help in any way after your court day. At any meeting that you may actually get to see him because she keeps changing appointments times and days, he mostly talks about himself and how smart he is through the whole thing. What a waste of money and time these people are. Use any Lawyer except James Hickman

Mr. Hickman was hired to represent me in a child's custody case. His retainer was paid in full. He failed to inform me of documents he received from the other attorney, he failed to file one piece of paperwork on one of my children. When he did work for the other child it was because the other attorn...ey hounded him into a date. When in court he would not object, intervene, or do anything but nod his head. He never returns calls or emails unless he initiated the email. His secretary screens every call, I have personally watched and heard her inform me she knew whos number that was and it can just go to voicemail. I would call from my phone and it would go to voicemail and then immediately call from another number and they would answer and ask if this was a new number for me. Please go somewhere else and get true representation.
