If i could put negative stars i would. Everything is the clients fault. Very unprepared for court and practically slept thru my child support hearing to which i was screwed. opposing counsel provided 0 documentation of income or childcare yet we proceeded anyway. Totally got screwed on Matt's watch! ...2 days before trial he dropped my case because i wanted more than 80 days a year with my son. Matt told me i wouldn't get more than that. No one wants to pick up the pieces from the crap shoot representation he did so i do not know what I'm going to do but my advice is to run far far far away from this dude his paralegal is legit but when the case takes a turn instead of fighting Matt will cut bate and run off. I have reported him to the bar also documentation is being mailed this week

He dont deserve 1 star that is why his office is vacany and tiu rarely see cars is he is not good attorney. I was for a brief time represented by Matthew birdwell he copped attitude and didn't listen to me he would not object let the state have their way. He felt like he was the master and I was his... obedient slave and he would ask questions then I answered them if I didnt tell him what he wanted to hear he said I argued. He has no respect for his clients he has this complex like you will do what I say rather than him working for you. Total waste of money and time just hire a good attorney. The client is supposed to be his interest not his own interest expertise or not if he is appointed he works for the state. Just fire him his assistant although nice did not want to copy nothing for me for evidence so it's like if you have evidence he doesnt want to hear it. He is rude and got a know it all attitude not a good attorney by no means and I heard others word of mouth tell me this. I fired him

Less than a year ago I had an attorney who was handling my slip and fall case over the previous year plus disappear and leave me hanging. I contacted Matt since I live in Oak Ridge and had heard good things about him. Matt agreed to take my case so I did hire him. Matt, and his assistant Chelsea, sta...rted working on the case immediately. Due to the previous attorneys incompetence Matt had to start from scratch with everything about my case. The previous did alot of nothing for over a year. Matt immediately started producing results. Matt always communicated very well every step of the way, explaining everything as we went. Matt and Chelsea worked extremely hard for me and I never doubted their dedication for a second. In much less time than the previous attorney Matt had re done everything, started dealing with the other parties, and got a very good settlement negotiated. I cannot possibly express how wonderful, knowledgeable, professional, compassionate and understanding Matt and Chelsea were especially during the times I was frustrated and not too patient. When I hired them I was devestated with the way my case had been handled or not handled for more than a year. I had lost all faith in attorneys, the entire process involved with my case. Matt and Chelsea saved me and brought back my belief in all that I had lost faith in. I was never mislead from the start with Matt. He was always very honest whether it was good or bad news. No matter how busy they were they ALWAYS had time for me. There is no doubt in my mind if Matt did not have the work ethic, dedication, professionalism and incredible amount of knowledge and ability that he has, the end results of my case would have been much more negative instead of the great results that were achieved. In addition to what I just said another thing that stood out about Matt and Chelsea was their incredible compassion! They care! They really care about their clients and its genuine. If I ever need and attorney again without a doubt I would go to Matt again, no question! I very, very strongly recommending contacting Matt if you need an attorney. Now you might think I've said all this because my case ended well. No, I would have said all this no matter what the results were!! Matt and Chelsea are incredible at what they do. They are wonderful people and are incredible professionals and attorneys. Again if you need an attorney call Matt. I highly recommend Matt for what you need. You won't be sorry! I never was and consider it my honor for them to be involved with my case. I give them the highest rating possible and again highly recommend them!!
