Candice Kaye Mendez

Ms. Candice Mendez attended University of South Florida in Tampa, FL where she received bachelor’s degrees in Criminology and Interdisciplinary Social Studies with cognates in Political Science and Sociology. While there she was also an active participant in campus life, working in the university and surrounding community in a variety of ways.

After completion of her undergraduate degrees, Ms. Mendez began her legal studies at the Appalachian School of Law in Grundy, Virginia. As a law student, Ms. Mendez saw the vital role that service plays in the development of an attorney, and she continued her history of being an active participant in her community. She was responsible for the formation of a new student peer mentorship program, started a knitting circle to provide blankets to children represented by Court Appointed Special Advocates, initiated the Buchanan County Seniors Christmas Project, and served as the president of the Sutin Public Interest Association. Ms. Mendez was awarded the Willard T. Owens and Samuel Weddington Little Red Wagon Awards for her exemplary service to the law school and the surrounding community.

Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Mendez opened her office in Dandridge, Tennessee. Since that time, Ms. Mendez has continued with the diligence, conscientiousness, passion, and attention to personal detail that are the trademarks of her style. Practicing in the areas of Criminal Defense, Family Law, Personal Injury, and Bankruptcy, Ms. Mendez has successfully litigated numerous cases involving tough legal issues and high public profiles.
