People v. Hume
N/AOUTCOME: NOT GUILTY
Client, who had been drinking, was accused of getting into a physical altercation with his grilfriend and knocking her unconscious with a liquor bottle. Client then went to a party, where he continued ... to drink, becoming obnoxious to the point where fellow party-goers demanded that he leave. Eventually, and reluctantly, Client began to leave the party, but not before getting into a fight with the host. During the ensuing melee the host was fatally stabbed in the heart and another victim suffered slash wounds to his torso. Client was later arrested--with the knife that several party-goers identified as the one Client had displayed at the party. DNA on the knife matched the decedent. Client was charged with domestic violence against his girlfriend, and murder and assault with a deadly weapon aginst the party-goers.
