Anthony Laudone

I was involved with a debt relief program, much to my dismay it was awful. I phoned for a consultation and was rewarded with an appointment for a consultation the next day, which I gladly kept. After explaining my options very understandably I hired him. We discussed my situation and decided on a Chap.... 13. He was very thorough and to the point and I appreciated that. For the first time in 3 months I was able to sleep that night. Thank you Eron and you come highly recommended by me.

Find a more attentive attorney

I contacted this attorney concerning debt collectors for a slew of medical bills from an auto accident years ago that I could not satisfy. I was told by the attorney that by filing "chapter 7" I would receive a "fresh start". I paid the attorneys fees and allowed him to file my case. On Aug 2 2012 I ...was granted a discharge of the debts by the Eastern District Federal Court. I left the court and after reaffirming my auto loan, began to work on rebuilding my credit. Several months past and I was still receiving collection calls from creditors even after telling them I filed Chapter 7. I contacted the attorney and nothing was done to halt the calls. The calls continued for several months and then subsided after many angry threats to those creditors from me. I was harassed even after my chapter 7 was discharged and received no assistance from my attorney. My point of contact was a woman named Teresa and I was never passed to the attorney to discuss these concerns. Through the process of building my credit I noticed every denial that I received from creditors they referenced "collection accounts", "past due amounts", and " account delinquencies" as the reasons for denial. It is my understanding of the FCRA that after filing and discharge the debt could remain on the file but should be referenced as "included in bankruptcy", not as active collection accounts. I again contacted the attorney's office and was told I would receive a call from Mr. Epstein. I did in fact receive that call, and after voicing my concerns to the attorney about being told I would get a "fresh start", was told he was going to enroll me in a "720 Credit score program" and he would cover the cost. This was done to avoid me filing a complaint with the BOPR (Board of Professional Responsibility) over the verbiage and promise of a "fresh start". I never received any information or assistance concerning that program. I called the office and left several messages with Teresa but was never contacted again. I have suffered the pains of dealing with credit agencies and creditors to do the work that should have been done by my attorney or in the least, should have been assisted and guided. I received neither. I have recently, within the last 3 months finally cleared my credit file of the erroneous information and have been able to obtain favorable credit. I am concerned that an attorney who states to a client they will receive a "fresh start" and then leaves that client to deal with legal aspects of a case on there own is not serving the client well. Recently I have run across Mr. Epstein's current advertisement whereas he claims he can "erase debt in 48 hours".I can provide a picture from the bus this appeared on. I didn't get a "fresh start" and I am sure if he can't provide what he stated to me he surely is unable to meet the confines of that advertisement. It is clear this attorney makes statements that are misleading to clients that foster a certain expectation and when that expectation falls short, the client is left to handle the problems on their own. I am very disappointed in the service from Mr. Epstein. I am very disappointed in the lack of communication or follow through from Mr. Epstein and /or his office staff as it relates to my case. I now own a business and I take full responsibility for the actions of my staff and myself. I believe he should too. I have spent many hours resolving issues that were the responsibility of his office as related to my case. These hours should have been spent with my family, used for growing my business, and for recreation. My family and I have had to deal with stresses related to this matter that affected our internal relationship and happiness. After all the purpose of filing for chapter 7 was to relieve the stress the debt was causing in the first place, not create more. That did not happen in this case. Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback. Our office strives to provide excellent customer service to every client. We provide bankruptcy services, not credit repair services. Due to privacy laws we are not allowed to deal directly with credit reporting agencies. The “720 Credit Score” program you reference is an independent third party and the client is responsible for following the program. Our records indicate that you were enrolled but failed to complete the program. Clients do receive a “fresh start” when they file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy as they are able to discharge most of their debts. Your bankruptcy petition indicates that you received a discharge of over $37,000 dollars in unsecured debt. Should you have any further questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact our office.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
