Biography

I was raised in South Florida where I grew up fishing, boating, rooting for the Dolphins, and spending entirely too much time in the sun. After finishing high school in Fort Lauderdale, I attended Florida State University, home of the Seminoles. After graduating, I went to the Florida State University College of Law where I obtained my Juris Doctorate in 1989.

I moved back to South Florida where I began practicing law. I was fortunate enough to have a successful run with my own firm for almost twenty years. During this time, I was instrumental in growing the firm from a two attorney shop into an 11 attorney/ 50 support staff firm with two offices. I devoted my practice to fighting for the rights of the injured and aggrieved, dedicating 100% of my efforts to the rights of the individual, be it personal injury, social security disability or insurance/ contract disputes. I tried over 100 cases to completion in Florida and was successful in obtaining great results- largely by virtue of outworking the other guy. I developed many of the traits that serve me well today- organization, hard work, and a single- minded desire to do the best job possible for my clients.

Far more important though, it was there I met my beautiful wife Rosy. After being blessed with two great little girls, Jennifer and Jessica, we took a look at the proverbial landscape and determined West Palm Beach was not the place to raise kids. Our travels ultimately brought us to Middle Tennessee. I have found this to be the perfect place for us- peaceful, friendly and a heavy emphasis on education. Additionally, we love the people. Tennessee deserves its reputation as the "friendliest place in the country".

Since moving to Tennessee, I have learned to love country music and generally spent a lot of quality time raising my kids. I still fish, boat, and spend entirely too much time in the sun. Now, however, I root for the Titans! After all these years, I consider myself a lnatice.

Professionally, it was a priority to find a firm committed to providing the best representation available. I firmly believe the client deserves nothing less. Over the course of my career, I have earned certain accolades that reflect this dedication. I am AV rated by Martindale Hubble (the highest rating a lawyer can achieve) and a longtime member of Best Lawyers in America and Tennessee Super Lawyers. Thanks for a wonderful job Dave!

Dave was recommended to me from a co-worker. I had not heard of him and was not sure what to expect when meeting with him. From the second we shook hands I was immediately comforted and felt like I was going to be very well taken care of in this matter. He was very informative and always stayed in to...uch with me. Professional and Personable!!

I can report that Mr. Weissman is a consumate professional and he is also very personable. Mr. Weissman was my attorney on a very complex and lengthy case. He handled the case as if it was a chess game. He calculated each maneuver and always stayed steps ahead of the defense team. I never questio...ned whether or not he was looking out for my best interest. I have worked with numerous attorneys my entire career and his knowledge of the law was very impressive!! He was always responsive and always either accepted my calls or called me back within a very reasonable time. I was very pleased with him as an attorney and the work he did on my case. I also enjoyed working with him as he made me feel as comfortable as possible throughout a very difficult process. I highly recommend Mr. Weissman as a plaintiff's attorney - and as a person who is great to know!!

Mr. Weissman as an attorney

What I appreciate most about Mr. Weissman is his candor. Rather than allowing me or my husband to have unrealistic expectations about the potential outcome of our case/situation, Mr. Weissman was forthcoming with the strengths and weaknesses of the case/situation. At the same time, Mr. Weissman def...ended our position in a way that made us feel genuinely supported.
