For most of my twenty-year career, I’ve intuitively been practicing the art of story to help my clients reach their goals. It is within the past ten years or so that I began to focus on the science of how and why story works. I started this learning journey out of necessity so I could train the lawyers who work for me to do what I do and to replicate the successes I have had. Through teaching these skills, my own understanding of the science and power of story has grown exponentially.

What started out as something I was doing naturally — storytelling — has now become the cornerstone of Sherwood Boutique Litigation’s systematic processes in defending our clients. Knowing the facts of your case and the relevant law is the bare minimum for our team, and we’ll know them better than anyone else in that courtroom. Ms. Sherwood received her undergraduate degree in Political Science with honors in 1997 from Delta State University. She received her Law Degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law, where she also received the Carl J. Ruskowski Clinical Legal Education Award. This prestigious award is given to the graduating student who demonstrated excellence in the practice of law and exemplified the highest standards of the legal profession. She is admitted to practice in Tennessee and is a member of the bar of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Western Districts of Tennessee.

Domestic Violence Case

I absolutely recommend Sherwood Boutique Litigation, specially Cynthia Sherwood. I had a great experience with Cynthia and everyone in the office. When I first called her and talked to her about my case I was very stressed out and frustrated, and after talking to her she made feel so much better, and... calmed me down. Since the first time, all along in the process, until the court date that I talked to her she always made me feel like I was talking to a best friend. There were times that I called her very stressed out almost crying and she always calmed me down, and told me that everything was going to be okay, and always had something nice and positive to say. Excellent communication all along the office, either with emails or phone calls. She always had time to talk to make an appointment and talk to you. And when it came the day of the court date, I was very nervous and stressed, and after talking to her I felt much better. And she was always there updating on every single detail during the court date. I recommend 100% Cynthia and her staff. If you are in need to hire a law firm, you owe it to yourself to read this entire statement. When you feel that you are writing a review of a family member instead of a law firm, you realize that you found a needle in a hay stack , something truly unique. The firm’s and Cynthia’s reputation as ...the best in Nashville and years of experience speaks loudly of their qualifications which, if anything, are humbly understated. I went through a stressful, very emotional and difficult period of over a year with tumultuous up and downs and Cynthia, and later Davis, were always there supporting, cajoling and advising at a level that sometime even family members are unable to reach. Life, conflicts or even sometime the legal system, can go against you when you least expect it and then is when you need true experts. As a professional executive business coach, I know what personalized attention should be, but the level of support I received was exceptional. The amount of legal work during and after hours including weekends, e mails, texts, phone calls and meetings practically guaranteed winning my (our?) case. Cynthia many times understood what I felt better than I did and was there throughout this whole period with such empathy that made me realize I had someone that cared always available and attentive . A Super Lawyer! Just being greeted by Brook at the front door makes me comfortable, knowing she represents the rest of the team, a firm with a superb leadership, a culture of values and a flexible holistic approach aligned to the client’s needs. When Cynthia was not available for a period of time, I was very nervous but Davis Griffin stepped in with such enthusiasm and hard work that I couldn’t be more satisfied with his performance. I was awarded my Order of Protection against a person that kept stating he always got off because of his money, but there is faith and trust to counter that. When this firm gets involved, the only drive on their mind is winning and justice. The thickness of the folder Davis brought to court got him a snide remark from the opposite lawyer.He found out why it was so thick later when we did win. Cov 19 or not, leaving the court, I wanted to hug all of them. I found real friends. 5 stars plus, plus, plus. I would recommend Sherwood Boutique Litigation to anyone in need.

I am extremely satisfied with the way that Sherwood Boutique Litigation handled my case. The entire team was very professional. My first meeting with Cynthia Sherwood went incredibly well. She went out of her way to make me feel comfortable through the entire process. I felt that she had my best inte...rest at heart. I left the meeting feeling confident that I would be satisfied with the outcome of the case. In the courtroom, Cynthia handled herself like a veteran. Her years of experience were quite evident. After two days in court, we won my case and I couldn’t have been any happier. Very highly recommended!

I hired Cynthia Sherwood to represent me for an Order of Protection case. Due to the complicated nature of the case, it required a lot of her time for preparation on short notice. Cynthia jumped right in and went to work preparing for defense. We had hundreds of pages of evidence. Cynthia combed thro...ugh every page of evidence, and had the PROOF that I was innocent ready to go when we got to court. On my court date, there was so much evidence that Cynthia practically had to back the truck up to the courthouse to unload all of it. With the overwhelming amount of evidence that Cynthia had prepared for court, she was able to present the court with an argument that ultimately proved the petitioner was a compulsive liar, and confirmed my innocence. Cynthia was a bulldog in the courtroom. Within moments of beginning her cross-examination of the petitioner I already knew with confidence that I would win the case. Cynthia knew exactly the right questions to ask while both the petitioner and myself were on the witness stand. While at the courthouse, I noticed that Cynthia is very well connected in the legal community. Lawyers and judges recognized her and spoke to her with a great deal of respect. Cynthia Sherwood did all of this work representing me for a very fair flat rate fee. Cynthia never complained about all of the hours it took to prepare for court, and never once tried to charge any additional fees. I know that Cynthia had my best interests in mind throughout the entire process.
