I am an adoption attorney and a Rule 31 family mediator, but most importantly, I am an advocate for children. I am one of the few attorneys in the State of Tennessee that has been certified as a child welfare law specialist by the National Association of Counsel for Children based upon my years of work experience and education. I have dedicated my career to the protection, health, and welfare of children. I am a graduate of the Nashville School of Law and obtained law license in 2000, though I was employed in the juvenile court system in the preceding years working daily with families to address the needs of the children appearing before the court. In my first two years as an attorney, I was employed as Assistant General Counsel for the Tennessee Department Children's Services (DCS) in Davidson County, where I handled hundreds of cases of dependency/neglect, abuse, severe abuse, physical abuse, and sexual abuse of children, along with termination of parental rights. I have worked with the courts, the state, and families in advocating for resolutions that will protect the health, safety, and welfare of children. In 2003, I decided to open my private practice dedicated to child advocacy. I wanted to have a more personal impact upon the lives of family and children. I accepted court appointed cases for dependency/neglect and abuse, serving mainly as the Guardian ad Litem for children for many years. I have handled countless cases involving custody, parentage, child support, termination of parental rights, and adoption. I have also been appointed by the Court in divorce and post divorce litigation as the Guardian ad Litem which often allowed me to facilitate agreements between the parties for the best interests of the child. I have practiced in multiple counties in Tennessee and am now handling contested adoptions, ICPC adoptions, birth parent surrenders, family mediations, & dependency/neglect cases.

Jennifer is a Blessing and THE BEST!
Jennifer was truly a blessing to my family. As I am a formal paralegal, I can say Jennifer is one of the most knowledgeable attorneys I've met. The combination of her expertise and her "bedside manner" make her a perfect family law attorney. I recommend hiring Jennifer at the earliest possible moment. Jennifer took our case after we were told to go away by other attorneys. She began as we had just received temporary custody of my biological nephew (3 weeks old) through DCS. From the beginning, Jennifer got us permanent custody through DCS as we filed for adoption. Then she terminated rights on both biological parents (each parent with multiple causes) and completed the adoption. Our case was so complex with so many factors and moving parts, but Jennifer broke it down simply and avoided costly motions that weren't needed (but other attorneys would do for the billable hour). Jennifer guided us through every step and procedure with an expertise that is hard to explain. She is so unlike so many other attorneys. I cannot put into words how amazing Jennifer is and how grateful my family is for what she's done for us. She made sure that my new child would always be taken care of and loved. She truly cares about what is best for the children. Without her, who knows what would have happened. Jennifer was God's answer to our many prayers.

I Am Eternally Grateful for Jennifer Williams!
Jennifer handled my case with the utmost professionalism. While maintaining compassion, Jennifer carried a passion for taking scrupulous care of my case. I have recommended several friends to Jennifer, and it has been a joy to see them find security and success in Jennifer's care. She is a Godsend!

Highest recommendation!
Throughout our highly sensitive case which involved members of our family, including a child, Jennifer exercised professionalism, compassion, skillful expertise in the courtroom and sensitivity to all aspects of what we were dealing with. Her guidance was always extremely helpful in moving our case forward. We will always be grateful for her unflinching resolve to help us win the rights for the child involved in our case and giving this child the opportunity to have a safe and fulfilling future. I can't recommend Jennifer highly enough as a caring, smart, skillful lawyer who will be there for you each step of the way.

Very smart and friendly lawyer
Our cases with our granddaughter I won't go into great detail but she was very smart in the way she handled herself in court around judges for the lawyers and against our opponent. If you need a lawyer for young kids this is the lawyer to hire don't look no further than Jennifer Evans Williams . Oh by the way she knows the law really well. Even if you are from another state check with her to see if he she can. Help you out this is how highly I regard her. [info withheld]

Jennifer was so amazing with our case. She walked us through every step thoroughly and gave great care to every detail. She handled our case brilliantly. I would not dare consider going to another attorney. I truly believe I couldn't find another attorney of her caliber. Not one negative experience.

Exceptional lawyer, but also an exceptional person!
Jennifer has been my Rock for three years now, to help me fight for the rights of two small children who had no voice in their future! She was and is an exceptional knowledgeable lawyer but also one of the most caring people I have ever met! She puts all she has into protecting children who need her, listened to me when I was upset or confused, supportive and always detailed about the fear of the unknown and what’s next! If she wasn’t sure of the answer she dug in until she found it! Her experience with children has been a wonderful asset to my case, and I am thankful I made the decision to trust her with such important issues in our family! I would hire her again in a heartbeat! She is everything I was hoping to find ; confidence, experience, but more important she really does care!
