I hired her for my initial divorce which went poorly. She was made aware that my child was abused both in her father’s care and by visitors to his home. She was provided with pictures of bruising on my 3 year olds ribs yet he still got joint custody!! I stupidly used her for child support modificatio...n and she arrived almost 2 hours late, I was mortified sitting I the other attorney’s office waiting on my counsel I’d fully paid! I don’t know that she is viewed as competent by her peers as during the modification meeting she constructed a brief on which opposing counsel patted her on the shoulder, praising her for the brief (who the hell was she working for?) I am still ah I got issues with the ex spouse and would be willing to hire someone and pay a pirate’s bounty for good, honest, timely representation. All her cases need to be reviewed and possible disbarment. She is a disgrace. Not just my opinion, she also disappointed a friend I referred to her before my case went down the drain! Run from her as fast as you can! She lies and doesn’t communicate timely!

She was hired and paid $2500 in advance of our court date to represent me for child support and a few minor issues with my case, nothing too serious. To my shock and surprise, she showed up to court unprepared to perform and postponed the hearing. I kept my cool as she explained that she would get ...the child support modified and talk to the judge concerning other issues. That was the last I heard from her. She moved out of her office without any notification and did not answer my texts, emails, or calls. The next time I saw her was in The Daily Journal for felony DUI with her minor kids in the car. I filed to have her removed as my attorney and represent myself. She never showed up to the hearings and finally responded to asking me to not remove her as my attorney. She is a compulsive liar, like no other. I filed a complaint with her the Tennessee Bar Association for her behavior. She was supposed to return my money and the file of my case. I have not received either one. This is just a summary. To this day, my child support is messed up. I have my daughter for 122 days out of the year, but pay child support as if I only have her for four days. Do not use her.

When we went to court and had discussed the child support matters she never drafted any documents to send to me nor the documents to be signed by the judge. After several months went by and I could not get her on her cell phone, I called her office, then in Murfreesboro only to be told she no longer ...works there. I have paid Cherie several thousands of dollars, in the past only to have my court dates moved for her reasons, The last time I paid her a retainer she took the money fast and then I never heard from her again.

Like the above reviewers she told me everything I wanted to hear. Once she got her $3500 retainer, she stopped returning my calls, and "forgot" to show up for the mediation. I finally got her to come one and a half hours later. At which point she didn't even know my son's name. Then she completely we...nt back on everything she told me before getting her retainer. RIGHT IN THE MIDLLE OF MEDIATION! After this fiasco, I asked her for a report of the hours she had spent on my case. Amazingly she had spent over ten hours and hadn't learned my son's name or any of the details of the case. She then broke off all communication with me. I will be reporting her to her employers and most likely the Tennessee Bar Association. In the mean time, Avoid Cherie Cash Rutledge at all costs! Find a good lawyer, they are out there.

I hired her to take work on a child support case and she started telling me everything she could do for me and it would be took care of in no time. I'm currently now going on 2 1/2 yrs and not the first thing has been done. Currently I call about twice a month trying to find out a status on my case a...nd she's either never in the office or unavailable at the time and her assistant says she will have her call me back but she never calls. I'm not very happy with her at all considering she was quick to take a few thousand dollars and not do anything in return. The one time I do get a response from her she informs me were waiting on my exes lawyer but there has to be a time limit they have to give a response. I would not recommend her to anyone for anything. Don't waste your money with her because you will never get anything in return.
