My practice is concentrated on the defense of citizens accused of crimes. The principle of my practice is simple: I believe that you have to care for the people you represent. I adamantly hold that concern and empathy for those I represent, thus forming the core of my practice. This sincerity ensures not only that everything that can be done will be done, but also that, whether I am defending the wealthy or the worker, it will be done to the best of my ability. I have built a team of attorneys, investigators and paralegals who share my passion for ensuring fair treatment for everyone under the law and you can be assured that everyone in my office, from the receptionist, to your paralegal, to your investigator, and to my co-counsel will provide aggressive and comprehensive support to you and I as we work toward the best resolution of your case.

The range of cases that I handle spans from DUI and Domestic Assault to high profile Murder cases. The focus of my practice is complex criminal charges, notably driving under the influence (DUI) charges. My clientele includes those individuals such as airline pilots and truck drivers whose employment or current situation in life would make the penalties of a DUI conviction unbearable. We also know that it's in an client's best interest to avoid a lengthy trial process and potential conviction. My trial work results in DUI verdicts of not guilty, homicide acquittals and many other not guilty verdicts for those accused of serious crimes. More importantly, my pre-trial efforts result in charges being dismissed or lowered, avoiding the dangers and expense of lengthy jury trials. Many of my clients have been found not guilty, while other clients avoided the harsh penalties called for under criminal statutes. I focus a large area of my practice to Domestic Assault cases with the belief that most families need love and support to get through their diffcult times and not the heavy hand of the law. Convictions in Domestic Assault can result in a citizen losing their home, their job and their freedom. I have written many articles and given many lectures to other attorneys across Tennessee and the country on how to get the best results possible to those charged with Domestic Assault.

I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and went on to get my law degree from the University of Tennessee School of Law in 1992.  I am a member of The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and The Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. I have 24 years of experience practicing law in multiple jurisdictions and I am frequently invited to speak and offer educational information to legal organizations across the country.

I represent clients in Davidson, Wilson, Sumner, Macon, Smith, DeKalb, Putnam, Fentress, Rutherford and more. My practice is convenient to Nashville, Lebanon, Mt. Juliet, Murfreesboro, Gallatin, Carthage, Cookeville and all cities in and around Middle Tennessee.

I am a proud lifelong resident of Gladeville, Tennessee and live there with my wife and five beautiful kids and grand-daughter.
