Jefferson Cole Dowsley Jr.

Cole helps his clients solve problems. He has over a dozen years of experience representing businesses and individuals in a wide variety of business disputes and transactions. He works hard to understand his clients’ business goals in order to deliver excellent results, whether through negotiation, mediation, arbitration or trial. He also creatively works with his clients to identify and manage risks and develop strategies to avoid lawsuits.

His litigation practice includes representing business clients in an array of complex commercial matters, including breach of contract, partnership disputes/disputes among business owners, non-compete and non-solicitation violations, theft of trade secrets, business torts, fraud and real estate/construction disputes. A portion of his litigation practice is devoted to the representation of multilevel marketing/direct sales companies and top distributors in lawsuits concerning cross-recruiting, non-competition, non-solicitation, violations of policies and procedures and sales organization raiding.

In addition to his litigation practice, Cole draws on his business acumen to assist clients with their general corporate needs. This often means preparing legal documents to match his clients’ business strategies, whether organizing a company for a new venture, drafting a critical contract on short notice or advising a company on an acquisition.

While he is based in Nashville, Cole has served as counsel to clients in courts and arbitration forums throughout Tennessee and across the country, including Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, New Hampshire, New York, South Carolina and Texas.
