Matthew Milligan

Matt did work with me on my limited income but he ignored all my calls and texts. I was having a custodial issue that my child was being abused and he refused to file a emergency order for me even when offered him 1000s of dollars. I hired a new attorney who in one day filed the emergency order beca...use she was gravely concerned for my childs safety. Had I had another attorney my child wouldn't have had to endure abuse for so long. He needs to be reported to the board for knowing my child was being abused and refusing to take action.

Long story short, I was young and made mistakes. I thought I would get a lawyer this time and have someone on my side. I Hired Mr. Milligan for a case and he honestly did nothing. the judge and state recognized it was an honest mistake and suspended my case for a year if I didn't get in any trou...ble. I still paid Mr. Milligan, no problem. He had one job and that was to follow up in a year to insure that the case was thrown out. He ignored every call and email attempt. I'm an Accountant now and out of trouble, this is important because i noticed a lot of the reviews are from people who are underprivileged and unknowledgeable. Its Important that you educate yourself and research a good lawyer. I truly believe Matt Milligan took advantage of me and made an easy $1250, but i was undereducated on the seriousness of my case and gave him the opportunity.

Matt Milligan is the worst lawyer I have ever seen. After he got my money I was lucky if I ever talked to him. It took him days to call me back but that was only after several phone calls and texts. I was in the hospital having open heart and tryin to reach him because I couldn't b in court. Worri...ed about my surgery, which I explained in my first voice mail, I shouldn't have bin worried about reaching my lawyer. I called, my mother, and my husband called for 5 days. No return call. I finally called him at 9:00 at nite to reach him and then he had an attitude with me. Court was the next morning. Really??? I caught him in several lies. I mailed pics to him but they got sent back for not enough postage. But before I got them back I asked if he had received them. He said oh yes my secretary picked em up yesterday. By the way he doesn't have a secretary much less an office. What a liar!!! He could have cared less about me. He never did anything. He said he had bin working very hard on my case behind the scenes Doing what? My outcome was the same as was proposed 6 months before. He never said anything when the judge chewed my ass and he knew I had everything to prove my innocence. That's because he doesn't care. He even sent his partner one time for court because he said he had to meet another client. What the hell was I? I asked him more than 12 times for copies of documents he had. Still don't have em. Run away and find a lawyer that can at the minimum answer the phone? This has bin extremely stressful for me. Having never bin in trouble in my life. I just got a cop wanting to play big shot. But he could have made it so so much easier. He just didn't care.

Matt charged me a total of $8000 for a case that 2 other lawyers told I could have beat, if Matt had done his job. Instead, he had me scared to death to prove my Innocence. The man who attacked me with a knife told the police he had a knife. The police said that they could see the man swing his hand... back and forth. I picked up a brick and I was arrested because I had no witness. I have been living here in my home for 20 years and my 2 next door neighbors had only lived here for lees than a year. My first meeting with Mr. Milligan was at the coffee shop at Krogers...ummmmm should had realized then, but I didn't. He ignored my calls, he did not show up on the last day of my court. They negociated and because I am 56 and mental disabled and I was scared to death. Thanks to the corrupted Williamson County system I am now on consecutive 2 years probation and I was told by his partner that walked out of court on me, because I said that I should get $4000 back, I felt they did nothing. They said I was getting 2 years concurrent, when I brought up to the judge this, Matt's partner told the judge that it was his fault that I thought this. My advise to anyone who even thinks about hiring any lawyer in Williamson County should think twice and go to Nashville and get a bulldog lawyer. You will be much better off. I am a vet, a pillar to my community and have never been in trouble and I was treated like I was a professional criminal. Please, please do not use him or you will reget it as much as I did.
