After obtaining a degree from Austin Peay in physics, Matthew took a position working for the Tennessee Valley Authority. After several years working in energy efficiency, Matthew decided to further his education by becoming a member of the Belmont College of Law's inaugural class. During his education, Matthew gained experience and knowledge in criminal law by working with both the Office of the Tennessee Attorney General and the Public Defender's Conference for the 19th Judicial District (Robertson and Montgomery Counties). Upon completion of his degree Matthew opened his own law practice in Montgomery County, Tennessee with the goal of providing affordable legal services to the area.
