I was fortunate to grow up in a home that had a heart for nonprofits and their missions. I witnessed and participated in a myriad of supportive roles with my family that benefitted individuals through both local and global nonprofit organizations. While in middle school, my father decided to leave the corporate world to pursue the calling of full-time mission work. Through this experience, I observed firsthand the difficulties of fundraising, as well as the immense impact that results from one’s charitable gifts. By the time I graduated high school, I had been on four international mission trips to Mexico, Romania, Ukraine and Moldova, each focused on their own unique projects.
I earned my Juris Doctor degree from Nashville School of Law, where I was inducted into the Cooper’s Inn Honor Society for graduating in the top ten percent of my class. While in law school, I was selected to be a student member of the Harry Phillips American Inn of Court, a legal society comprised of judges and respected lawyers dedicated to the advancement of ethics and strict standards of professionalism in the legal community. Currently, I am pursuing a masters of laws degree in Estate Planning from The John Marshall Law School. For my undergraduate studies, I graduated magna cum laude from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology with minors in political science and entrepreneurship. Additionally, I earned my fellow certification (FCEP) from the Charitable Estate Planning Institute, am a member of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning (PPP), Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), and serve as the President- Elect of the Planned Giving Council of Middle Tennessee.
I married my high school sweetheart, Katie, in 2008. We currently live in Brentwood, Tennessee with our two lively cats. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, top-roping at the local indoor climbing gym, and lead-climbing outdoors. These passions have taken me to some of the most beautiful parts of Tennessee.
