I am very displeased and disappointed in how Ashley handled my case. I was a first time offender facing a misdemeanor charge , and Ashley assured me that she would go hard to fight for me and that’s not what my experience was . Before going to court , I would reach out to her several times to see wha...t her and I plan of action was to have the best outcome as possible, and she would not respond . It took her several weeks to even call me to come up with a concrete plan , and even then it seemed like she neglected my case . I had spoke with other attorneys that charged a less expensive fee than hers , and their plan of actions seemed a lot more thought out than hers . The only reason I hired her was because she was a woman of color , and by me being a woman of color I thought she would fight for me and take my case seriously but that was not the case here . I feel like she was too busy to really prepare for my case , and instead of her being honest she instead charged me $2500 for a general court session resulting in my case not being resolved. She honestly did not take my case seriously , and being that it was in Sumner County , the charges were much more aggressive than they would be in neighboring counties such as Davidson county , etc. I feel as though I was taken advantage of, and feel like she was just wanted to make a quick buck. Not only were my charges not dismissed , she made me complete my own application to submit to the TBI (Tennessee bureau of investigation)for me to use my diversion and made my pay the $100 fee after after already charging me $2500 . All of the other previous attorneys I spoke with before hiring her , were willing to include the diversion application fee along with their fee and advised that they would complete the application for me . The diversion application is suppose to be completed before any court date in case a first time offender has to use it , and instead she made ME complete the application the day of my court date once she realized that she was not able to resolve my case. The only positive thing I can that she was able to do for me , was instead of me having to do a year of probation , she was able to negotiate it down to 6 months . This is just my honest opinion , I felt like I should have hired another attorney for my case and hopefully she take her clients cases more serious in the near future so that they can get the best results as possible.
