Do not hire this guy

This guy is a complete idiot! I have a domestic violence charge all because he did not tell me one thing and that would have gotten me out of it. I didn't even do anything it's pretty sad when you're being charged with stuff in your lawyer can't even get his hands on any evidence worst lawyer ever.

Incompetent!

For someone to have such a pedigree in a law degree you would think he would do everything in his power to fight for his clients, so not true! I paid him upwards in the $1000s and lost my case. He "acts" like he is doing a wonderful job & at times makes you actually believe it, alas, he isn't. I begg...ed him to get phone records, etc, he claimed there was absolutely no reason to get them, albeit I needed them in court! Rhonda, his secretary, is left holding the bag, perse. Mr. Shields is definitely a lawyer I would NOT recommend to a flea! Bypass him and move on to another one. He cares nothing about his clients, just his billfold being full. If you decide to use him after this review, you deserve what you get!

he's descent.

i enjoyed working with him and his staff... but once my case was closed, my childs father switched jobs and it was like pulling teeth to get things done by this office. no support & since the case was closed, they did not seem to care.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
