I had a situation with Southern Eye Group in Bay Minette, Alabama where they gave me the wrong prescription and I spent close to $400 getting new lenses, getting a new exam (to determine my real prescription) and the trouble of getting more glasses yet again. I called and called and they flat-out tol...d me they were not reimbursing me and stopped taking my calls. Clearly, a lawyer is too expensive to use for just being owed $400, but Mr. Mitchell worked w/ me anyway. Before I get into his goodness, I’d like to say that I am melo-dramatic over my principles. I was fully committed to spending money I didn’t have for a lawyer over this nonsense after the way this business treated me. Many lawyers were not available when the paralegals heard my story (due to the lower-tiered financial outcome for the lawyer in question is my guess.) Many are so good (I guess) that they were always in meetings. Mr. Mitchell was available the first time I called and talked directly to me. I promised him no money up front or anything. He genuinely wanted to hear my story and just started advising me right then and there. He walked me through the entire small claims court process, told me what to do when they defaulted and told me to keep quiet for the next 42 days after I filed the default while the courts work on it so their team of lawyers can’t do anything about it once that grace period passed. Not only has he continued to show me the best routes to take in my specific situation, but he even had me continue to call him to let him know how things were going. I’ve been chomping at the bit to get these reviews out about this man. (I specifically asked him for this website so I could leave the review where HE wanted it.) I wanted to wait until everything was finalized so I could give a full account of all the kindness and advice this sweet man has shown me. I even brought him and his team donuts! He’s so freakin’ nice! I go OUT MY WAY to let folks know about him because his kindness is never-ending. He reminds me of the kindness Alabama USED to show to strangers. Salt-of-the-earth at its best.
