DON'T HIRE RACHEL MACON (POWELL)

DON'T HIRE RACHEL! She did not prepare for my case in any way. She cut and pasted an email I sent to her with private client comments addressed to her along with questions I wanted her to ask the opposing party, and submitted it to the court. She failed to review the evidence provided by either side.... She did not know the facts of the case. She lost evidence provided to her. I provided documents/evidence to her multiple times and she still showed up to court without the evidence needed to win the case. Rachel had absolutely NO STRATEGY to win the case or to present the case in court. Even up to the day of the hearing, It was clear to me Rachel did not comprehend or even have any idea of why she was hired, the nature of the case, how to present her case, what was at stake for her client, or the evidence produced. I won a judgement 5 years ago which resulted in a $31,000.00 payment due to me for back child support that the Alabama Department of Human Resources had put a hold on the opposing party's bank account to be transferred to my bank account. The only thing Rachel had to say for 9 months was the Judge would never set aside his own ruling 5 years later. Guess what folks, the Judge set aside his own ruling 5 years later. Rachel lost a case that was supposed to be a sure win. It was for the opposing party to prove their case to win the case. Rachel did not even call the opposing party to the stand. She did not ask the opposing party a single question. I paid Rachel in full up-front, however, she and her staff continued to call me stating I owed an additional $1,000.00. I had to tell her not to contact me further to solicit funds not owed to her for services I had not hired her for. I did not get anything for the money I spent to hire her. RUN!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
