The son of a coal miner, William M. Hawkins Jr. grew up in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. He graduated with honors from James Madison University before earning his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where he served on the American Journal of Trial Advocacy.
Mr. Hawkins maintains a broad practice representing clients throughout Cherokee County and the surrounding areas in personal injury, wrongful death, domestic relations, criminal defense, and general civil litigation. He formerly represented the Town of Cedar Bluff and has represented Cherokee County for the past thirty years. He currently serves as Judge for the City of Centre, a role he has held for more than fifteen years.
Active in the Centre community, Mr. Hawkins is involved in local youth sports and previously served as a coach and president of the Dixie Youth Baseball League. He is also a past president of the Centre Optimist Club.
