I have a deep compassion and understanding for those suffering from PTSD And trauma, and how it effects relationships. This is a result of my years working in Asylum/Refugee Law, including training on trauma through our organization, AILA.  Everyone will be treated with respect and compassion, regardless of "what side of the fence" you are on.

I will help you with your parenting time, parenting plans, and special concerns you may have for your family--whether it be concerns as to education (I understand home schooling) or allegations of physical or mental child abuse.

My philosophy is not to escalate the issues to increase attorney fees. I like to help my clients take the shortest path to get to their destination.  I understand how complicated and expensive it can get with Guardian ad Litem, therapeutic mediators, psyscologists, and multiple other professionals that can make your divorce and/or child custoday case nothing but a big headache.  Sometimes this is necessary, but in other instances the better route is to try to have a professional relationship with the other attorney, which is possible while still never losing sight of the fact that my client's interests, if reasonable,  outweigh relationships with other attorneys.

Every case I look at is screened for the potential for alimony (or palimony), even with current trends to do away with alimony or change the way it looks.

I am very understanding and realize we are not all rich, so I rely on the "Honor System" to set up a payment plan.

I am always open to alternative methods of contact with clients. I willingly communicate with Primate Messaging on Facebook, or even with text messages via cell phone, so that I can always be available to help you, especially when situations get stressful turning it into an emergency.

I also have experience with children in Juvenile Court, seeking dependency for Special Immigrant Juvenile Practice. I can take these cases from beginning to end, helping a child achieve legal permanent residency, which is often a more viable alternative than trying to get this status through adoption.

Best lawyer I have EVER had!
Mrs. Oraif has been such an amazing lawyer! I have had many needs for lawyers with this case , divorce and child custody, being one of the most important cases and I had hired a local attny for this case. He was horrible and weeks before trial I had to fire him. I was referred to Diane from a family friend and the first time I spoke with her I knew she was meant to be my attny. I’ve never had someone fight for me like she has. She has gone far and beyond the call of duty , if I had a question at 11pm she answered and would talk me through it! I would refer her to anyone that needed an attorney! Thank you Diane!

Super Caring!
Mrs Diane Oraif was all about family and was super caring throughout the whole process. There were times I was frustrated and ready to give up after how bad my spouse did me, but she kept me engaged and looking at the end result, and trying to not stress over the process and time it took. Saying my divorce was a nightmare would be putting it mildly. The amount of time she spent with me at all hours of the day was amazing, and her explanations of the stuff I didn't understand was a god send. She helped me get to the finish line with everything I wanted out of the divorce. I highly recommend her.

Mrs.
Diane Oraif is an excellent attorney, she is handling the adoption of our little girl, she has gone out of her way in my book to do the research and take the time to explain to me what I don't understand about adoption laws. She has done this in a very timely fashion. She is reachable to me by phone most anytime I calm or text, I find it easier for to contact her by email, either way her response time is awesome. I would recommend her to anyone for family law.. Thank you Diane

An excellent attorney. I highly recommed her.
Ms. Oraif really knows what she's doing. I feel that if I had hired a different attorney, I would have lost my case. The research she did made all the difference, and she seems to really care about her clients. Representing her clients seems to be much more than just a job to her. She cares what happens to us, how a judge's decisions can affect her client's lives.

Excellent communication. Thank you!
Has always been professional, and gotten everything filed in a timely matter. If something could not be filed, or if there was a problem, this attorney was GREAT at communicating what the problem was. Some people who hire lawyers want to blame them if the case does not go their way, bit this lawyer will tell you the correct advice.

worst lawyer EVER!!
This is by far the worst lawyer i have come across. She has VERY little experience. as you can see she has only been licensed for 5 years. Procrastinates soooo much and does not send in important documentation on a timely manner which caused my case to be denied because she said " the papers were laying on her desk and she forgot to send them." and said i would have to pay the fees AGAIN in order to open the case back up. very irresponsible and forgetful. I have worked with many lawyers in the past and have NEVER seen one as unknowlegable as Diane Oraif. Many times she had to call other lawyers to get advice on how to go about the case. By no means would i ever recommend this lawyer!!!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY.

Response from Diane Oraif October 25, 2022
The motive of this poster is highly suspicious. It is far too easy for a someone falsely posing as a client to write libelous information when they are actually a brother who is mad about my mother's will, or a competing attorney, or even an opposing party in a divorce case. First of all, five years is not "very little experience." Second, there has never been a client with whom I have forgotten to send in papers and missed a deadline. I have never told a client "I forgot to send in your papers." If that had been the case, I certainly would not have asked a client to pay a fee again and would have paid it myself if I had done such a thing. If a case is denied by a judge, I will work very hard to try to find alternate routes for relief from removal. If this is the situation, it is fair to ask the client for additional fees. It is not fair to blame a denial on the attorney who worked very hard on a case, but unfortunately it is done by clients. The person who claims to be a client would not have any way of knowing whether or not I called other lawyers about how to do a case, and I certainly would not do this in front of a client. Many clients procrastinate, which is surprising considering what they have to lose. I recently had a case denied where the client did not come up with the necessary documentation before the filing deadline, and the client tried to justify by saying that I did not send the document in time. Of course I cannot send a document that I do not have, and it will not be a failure on my part. With a slim chance that this truly is a real client, I would hope my clients would speak up and tell me if they have doubts that there case is being handled correctly. I will gladly try to communicate the status of their case, or explain to them what is going wrong or what documents are lacking. EDIT: THIS CASE WAS YEARS AGO, HOWEVER I DISCOVERED IT WAS WRITTEN BY THE OPPOSING PARTY TO GET REVENGE.
