Mr. Godwin has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration-Finance from Birmingham Southern College 1989 and a Juris Doctorate degree from Birmingham School of Law 2003. He is a Veteran of the United States Navy Reserve having served in Desert Storm Desert Shield as a Navy Hospital Corpsman attached to the United States Marine Corps. Prior to becoming an attorney he was an insurance claims adjuster and litigation manager for cases in the southeastern U.S. He has experience as a wind and flood catastrophe property claims adjuster primarily with hurricane losses. Since 2004 Mr. Godwin has been admitted to practice law in Alabama State Courts and United States District Court Northern District. Attorney Godwin handles auto injury liability and uninsured motorist cases; workers' compensation injury cases; and insurance property claim disputes over wind, fire, theft, water and other type losses filed under insurance polices.
