I liked Ed personally, but I was disappointed with his handling of my university dispute involving retaliation. University policy gives the professor discretion to assign an incomplete, subject to eligibility requirements. The incomplete contract I provided him, signed by my professor and me, showed ...that I met the listed requirements, which contradicted university counsel’s explanation. Yet it was absent from the copy of his evidence submission that he forwarded to me. Although he raised retaliation concerns and requested university records, I was dissatisfied with his follow-through in obtaining those records and addressing the conflicting evidence. University counsel had said these matters were unrelated to my complaints. But after a drawn-out process of advocating for myself, I obtained records that, despite being incomplete and excessively redacted, centered on my OCR case and internal grievance. I expected a more thorough examination and challenge of the university’s account, which could have prevented much of the harm I experienced.
