Kenneth John Gomany

Ken Gomany is an aggressive criminal defense attorney practicing in the greater Birmingham area. His practice areas include federal court, state district and circuit courts, and municipal courts. As a practicing criminal lawyer for forty-two years in Jefferson, Shelby, and St. Clair counties, Ken obtains excellent results for his clients based on his knowledge of the law, relationships with district attorneys and U.S. attorneys, and his credibility with judges. He gained experience as a deputy district attorney in Jefferson County, Alabama for nine years. Ken also served as a division chief and was the chief deputy of the homicide division in Jefferson County. Ken also served as the former Treasurer for Jefferson County, Alabama. 

Ken's current cases include capital murder, all classes of felonies and misdemeanors. He is regularly appointed by federal judges, circuit court criminal judges, and state court district judges to represent indigent clients because of the bench's confidence in him.

When he is not representing his own criminal clients, Ken presently serves as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Gardendale. Ken is also the past president of the Greater Birmingham Defense Lawyers Associations. Ken is an active member of the Birmingham Bar Association where he is a member of the Criminal Law section.

Ken is also a former instructor of criminal justice at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
