Preserved my commercial drivers license status

John, was able to get my cdl reinstated and argued against it being suspended in court. Apparently, state and local courts are reluctant to give cdl licensees a break but John convinced them that there was an exception in my case.

Saved my grandchildren lives no doubt!!

I hired John to represent me in a family court case that I intervened in because sadly my daughter was just not doing what she needed to do be a proper parent and was not going to turn it around. John researched all the things my daughter was claiming through her attorney... where she was working, et...c and learned that it was not true. My daughter was on probation for a drug offense in a different court. Fortunately, John knew the probation officer from prior cases and "just knew" that my daughter would test postiive at court. So he argued for my daughter to drug test at court and she came back positive for cocaine. It just breaks my heart that my grandchildren could not be raised by their mother..... but until she decides to change her life it will not happen. Thanks to John my grandchildren are in a safe and stable environment and have a great chance to make something out of themselves.

Misdemeanor in Birmingham

Made a stupid mistake in downtown Birmingham and was charged with a misdemeanor. Otherwise no big deal except in my case it would have cost me my job plus my wife and I were talking about divorce and I was trying to save my marriage and this would have sunk the marriage for sure not too mention not s...eeing my children everyday. if you knew my wife you would understand. Went to John and with only two court appearances got the case dismissed... I only had to pay court costs. Case lasted for about 6 months but I only had to go to court twice. Did everything he said he was going to do and actually did more.

Criminal Case

I was arrested for an offense that I initially thought was a minor offense in Alabama as it is a minor offense in the state that I reside in , Washington. I was visiting relatives in Alabama and was stopped for possession of a controlled substance. While looking at my paperwork a few days before cour...t, I realized I was charged with a felony. I contacted John with short notice and we met and discussed my case and mapped out a plan and he quoted me a reasonable attorney fee. We were able to get it settled with me participating in drug court program which I was allowed to do in Washington. I had some missteps along the way and had to come back to Alabama for a review. Judge was going to put me in jail for 1 week so I thought good bye job. But John anticipated the problem ahead of time and was able to get a recommendation letter from my case manager in Washington and got my case manager to call the Judge while we were in court and I was just let off with a warning. Thanks to John's quick thinking and responsiveness I was able to avoid jail while about half of the other people on the docket were being placed in jail. After that misstep, I got my act together and the case has been dismissed. John really cared about me and kept me informed via email.

Child Support Defense

I was married in Shelby County and my wife took our child back to New York where she was originally from and then sued me for divorce in New York and somehow got a default judgment and then New Jersey started to sue me in child support. John got the case in Alabama dismissed because I had never been ...to New Jersey, even when we were married. He then helped me obtain a reasonable attorney in New Jersey who would work with me to get the divorce judgment set aside. Once that was obtained, I went back to John and he was able to negotiate with my wife's attorney in New Jesey for them to come back home. My wife and I are working things out now and are in counseling together and I have my family back.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2010.

Reprimand issued in AL, 2010

updated on 08/25/2014

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the State did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

John’s comment:

“I entered into an agreement with a paralegal to work as an independent contractor. The agreement called for attorney fees to be split with the paralegal. Although an agreement was entered into to split attorney fees, no attorney fees were paid to the paralegal.”
