Paul M. Aloise Jr.

Paul is a trial lawyer, former NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor, and adjunct professor at the Florida State University College of Law, where he formally taught Trial Practice and presently teaches a course he created, Sports Agency, NCAA, and NIL Marketing, at the Stoops Center of Law and Business. He earned his law degree from FSU College of Law in 2016 after graduating cum laude with a dual degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice and Sports Management. Before entering private practice, Paul spent nearly four years as an Assistant State Attorney in both the 15th and 2nd Judicial Circuits, where he tried over 50 felony and misdemeanor cases, including murder, attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery, capital sexual battery, possession of child pornography, drug trafficking, domestic battery, and Driving Under the Influence (DUI). To date, Paul has won jury trials in 4 different judicial circuits throughout the state of Florida.

That prosecutorial foundation sharpened Paul into the trial attorney he is today. At The Rubin Firm, he focuses his practice on criminal defense, personal injury, medical malpractice, employment law, contract law, civil rights, and sports and entertainment law. His results speak for themselves: multiple Not Guilty jury verdicts throughout the State of Florida, a car accident settlement of over $962,000 against a prominent rideshare company, a $925,000 multi-defendant auto accident recovery, a successful defense of a breach of contract and defamation claim in the Southern District of New York, and a $390,000 breach of contract settlement against a county government. In 2022, as the lead trial attorney, Paul also secured a jury verdict exceeding $250,000 in a civil rights case against the Leon County Sheriff’s Office involving a wrongful/false arrest. This verdict earned a spot on the 2023 Top 100 Jury Verdicts in the United States for 2022. Paul is also admitted to practice in the Federal District Court for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida.

Outside the courtroom, Paul has built a respected career in sports and entertainment representation initially through his sports agency , Renegade Sports & Entertainment, LLC, as an NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor, and now as an award winning Sports and Entertainment attorney. During his time as an agent, he negotiated 27 NFL Contracts with 13 different NFL Teams, and negotiated over 50 professional football contracts across the NFL, CFL, XFL, and USFL. Paul’s client roster includes NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens, Platinum selling rapper Turk (original member of the Hot Boys which also included Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and BG), Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman, Grammy Nominated Producer M16, Peloton celebrity instructor Mariana Fernandez, and Netflix stars Coach Jason Brown, of Last Chance U Seasons 2 & 3 and Slobby Robby, of Slobby’s World. Paul is a frequent speaker at law schools, bar associations, and industry events on topics ranging from NIL compliance to criminal defense. He has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star every year since 2021, a National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 for Criminal Defense every year since 2020, and a Lawyers of Distinction honoree in Sports Law. Paul graduated from Martin County High School in 2010, where he lettered in Football, Weightlifting, and Track & Field. Paul then went on to play football at Florida State University, where he was a member of the 2013 BCS National Championship team. Paul’s parents, Paul and Ellen Aloise, have lived in Martin County for 25 years, and his younger brother, Daniel M. Aloise, M.D., is in the Emergency Medicine residency program at Mount Sinai Medical Center, in Miami Beach, FL.
