In January, 2012, my divorce was finalized, with Karen Steger serving as my counsel. Karen listened to my needs and understood the urgency of them. She and her staff were not only professional, but supportive and helpful throughout the entire process, which lasted well over a year. It was an extremel...y stressful situation and Karen put my mind at ease from my first consultation with her. In April, 2014, I was faced with a modification to my original divorce and once again, Karen proved to be more than successful in her representation of me. I was scheduled to go to trial in August of 2015, and Karen arranged a settlement prior to that time. Even though she and her family were faced with a personal tragedy of their own, she was concerned with saving me unnecessary court costs and legal fees. I think the best thing for me to do here is to post the letter I just wrote to Karen Steger, it is self explanatory. Dear Karen: I am writing today to thank you and your entire team for the way you handled my divorce. I have spent more than 45 years dealing with attorneys in my business, and... I have never had the pleasure of dealing with a more principled attorney, or finer person. When I came to you back in July with “my mess”, your reaction was not one of the typical attorney who sees nothing more than another payday, it was the opposite! You may not remember, but I remember vividly ….. my case should never have been “a case” and you said so. You were so adamant that you refused to take my retainer! Not because you didn’t want me as a client, but because you felt it was not right! The events that followed that same day caused me to leave that retainer, and I’m glad I did! Here we are today, on the day of my final hearing and I firmly believe that no other attorney, or law firm would have been willing to do what you and your team did for me. The way your “machine” jumped into action and MADE IT HAPPEN was simply amazing. I am convinced that if I didn’t have your help, this would have dragged on for many more months and cost significantly more money. I want to sincerely express my gratitude, and don’t really know how to thank you enough for the help and guidance you all provided to me. My thanks go to you, Lorrie Marion, Brenda Thrift and Lori Steger, each one played an important role in making this happen …… THANK YOU ALL!
