Patrick Lee Smith

In Feb 2015, I paid for P. Smith to write a Revoc Trust. In Nov. 2018,prior to scheduled Brain Surgery, I wanted to make some small Beneficiary changes. I made appoint. for Smith at the Clermont office. I was treated very rudely by Pat Smith. This mistreatment bothered me. The next day I phoned his... office and was going to complain to Smith about the day's before rude treatment. When he came on the line I asked if we could have this conversation in private and confidentially, because I did not want to embarrass Smith by having his staff overhear me chastising him. Smith refused my request for confidentiality, although the request was for his benefit. I have since hired a new attorney to handle my Trust. Patrick Smith will now lose out on more than $40,000 in Trust administration fees he would have earned.

Attorney Smith has been such a blessing to our family. My parents chose him to plan their estate and told us to call him when the time came. Sadly, we did not know how soon that would be. Attorney Smith was so patient with us, walking us through the process of carrying out our parents’ final wishes. ...It’s clear why my parents spoke so highly of him. We could not have handled this emotional and overwhelming time in our lives without him. We are meeting with him next week to plan our estate and tell everyone we know about the service we received.

I found Patrick Smith to be very knowledgeable about estate planning and describing the difference between wills and trusts. He explained how wills go through probate but trusts do not. He asked before the appointment ended if I had any further questions and let me know that I could call him anytim...e. I received the drafts of my documents sooner than expected and when I contacted the office with questions, my call was promptly returned. Everything was explained to me in detail at my signing appointment and I have had no issues funding my trust or using my documents since. Mr. Smith is a wonderful and thorough attorney in my opinion.

If you are looking for low cost attorney to do your trust Patrick Smith is the type of attorney who can forfill this. I had a trust prepared by him in the past. In my opinion he is a "rush" attorney who don't have the time for his clients. You get what you pay for. I feel whenever I spoke to ...him he was not talking to me but talking down to me. His style in my opinion has a lot to be desired. A trust is a very complex process and one needs a great relationship with their attorney and that they are meticulous in execution of documents and understanding their clients. I'm in my 70's and feel he is no longer my type of attorney for my trust for many reasons. Again if you want a low cost fast pace trust attorney he might be for you.

I was appointed this attorney through other representation. He has not got in contact with me in almost a year. When he did finally contact me I asked him a legitimate question and was talked down to like a child and threatened that he would abandon my case if I asked any other questions like the one... I did. This attorney is a joke and I would recommend moving on to the next one. Also his fee is pretty insane. He wants half of the estate sales value as fees.
