If you want to lose and in epic fashion, This is your guy!

The absolute worse incompetent lawyer I have ever hired or could even imagine. I honestly think he was on my wife`s side. It was either that or incompetence to the likes of jaw dropping. He missed court date appearances, Lose clear cut cases so badly I had to pay for opposing party fees, tell me to s...ay certain things that he would cross examine then tell the judge nothing further when it was our turn to rebut. He would tell me how many times he lost when we would leave as if it some sort of justification. He would file a motion and it would just go away and when I asked why there was never a ruling he told me not to cry over spilt milk. No Morals, No integrity, I could have saved the $28,000.00 I paid in total lawyer fees and just told the judge to do everything my ex wanted be cause she got everything she asked for. so my total loses round about were about $130,000.00. so if you want to lose and in epic fashion, This is your guy!

It is incredibly frustrating to see comments like these when, in order to maintain my professional duties and obligations to clients, I cannot fully respond. For some or all of these things, I would deny the allegations and assume there is some variation of miscommunication. Unfortunately, even when people who do not have prenuptial agreements retain their business without paying the other side, retain homes at a significantly greater value than the court would allow, and otherwise obtain financial advantages, they are sometimes unhappy because they had to pay the other side anything at all. Often, I am seeing people that have non-marital property refinance and put the home into joint names, you do not have to do this, and if you do, the court will treat the situation as though you have gifted half the property to the other spouse, even if you pay for it 100%. People will sometimes have to pay the other sides attorney's fees when they do not provide discovery, when there is a significant difference in their financial circumstances, or when they have failed to comply with court orders or agreements. We pride ourselves on giving people realistic expectations as to the cost of litigation as well as the actual likely result even when we are seeking extraordinary relief from the court. Sometimes, the court grants relief that is unexpected and/or improper, which is one of the reasons the firm is handling family law appeals. I'm not sure who this anonymous poster is, however, I would be happy to address with this person why they felt the need to post something like this if they contact me directly.

Divorce Case

I hired Mr. Emrick to handle my divorce. My spouse left for another, made claims against me that she later testified under oath were untrue. She attempted to drag out the divorce much longer than necessary. Mr. Emrick and his Team resolved my case satisfactorily. I recommend Emrick Family Law!...

Money well spent.

Ed and Rebecca also the rest of the staff are truly amazing. If you feel the need for Hands-On help they will sit down with you and explain word for word in detail what is going on. These people have worked night and day for me and I truly appreciate everything they have done. Not that I ever want to... get another divorce but if I had to I would not hesitate to higher Ed Emrick to represent me. You couldn't ask for a nicer Young stand up man. I wish them all the best and thank you again sincerely Daniel.

Divorce

I followed Mr Emrick after he left the law firm of BNC. Said he was glad I stayed with him and that we a had a case. After I was no longer able to pay he withdrew from the case. In 2016 after having a meeting at Mr Turner office we were leaving but Mr Emrick stayed behind and when I went back to see ...what was going on he and Mr Turner and his client were talking about reopening my QDRO for more money from my pension, I said yes let's do that because she is getting more of my pension than she is entility to. I was sentence to jail for 180 days by order of Mr Turner, but the charge was for nonpayment of child support not Alimony, My sister called Mr Emrick and he said he would look to see what he could do, I never saw him nor heard from him, if it wasn't for the trustee who got the Writ of Habeas Corpus I would have spent the 180 days and end up losing everything that I had left. Even the Judge was surprised to see me before her again after only 22 days in jail! After that I called 2 other attorneys that said I have never had a trial, only hearings, So I would say stay away from Mr Emrick a lawyer that doesn't know what a WRIT is and even a judge needs to get another legal means like maybe the FBI, because even the DA's office has sent me around the block and didn't help when I was sentence to jail and she said you don't get put in jail for nonpayment of Alimony, WELL, it HAPPEN! Mr Emrick folded like a lawn chair in court in 2016!

Although I am disappointed to hear that a former client has felt the need to post a negative review and that he is somehow dissatisfied with me, it should be noted that this individual is upset with things that occurred subsequent to my representation of him. It is difficult to provide a full response to this review without this individual providing me with a consent to provide information that is protected by the attorney client privilege. However, I will say that A) the 2016 trial I conducted resulted in a substantial reduction in my client's alimony obligation and B) when an individual, who has the ability to comply with a court order, particularly an order for support (alimony or child support), willfully fails to do so, this is a contempt of court and so long as the court provides him with the key to his own cell (usually an amount of money to pay which he has the ability to pay) then that person can be incarcerated. I did not represent this individual at the time he was ordered to go to jail or after he had been incarcerated.

Excellent attorney

I would highly recommend Ed Emrick. I hired him to take over my divorce case after my previous attorney was dragging things out. He immediately got to work on it and got the ball rolling. Mediation was schedule within a couple of weeks and my divorce finalized a short time later. He was very know...ledgeable and I am extremely pleased with the outcome. I would highly recommend Mr. Emrick.
