The client was charged with misdemeanor possession of concentrated cannabis, Health and Safety Code section 11357(a), in the Inglewood Superior Court. Over two years had passed since the arrest before ... our client came to court, although he was living just blocks from the courthouse. Greg filed a Motion to Dismiss for Lack of a Speedy Trial, under the Sixth Amendment and Serna v. Superior Court. The judge granted the motion and dismissed the case.

Our client was ticketed for violating Penal Code section 372, public nuisance, in Hermosa Beach. The client, a medical doctor, insisted to Greg that he was not urinating at all, but merely reaching in ... to his pocket to pull out his cell phone and that the Hermosa Beach police officer gave him a ticket while he was trying to pull out the phone. He did then get the phone out of his pocket and took pictures of the pavement where he had been accused of urinating. The pictures showed the pavement was dry. Greg was then retained and showed these pictures to the Hermosa Beach City Prosecutor, who dismissed the case.

Our client attempted to pass a check that was not his, using identification from another person, at Robbins Jewelry. He was attempting to buy jewelry to give to a loan shark that had loaned him money ... while he was gambling at the Hustler Casino. Our client was arrested at Robbins' Jewelers and immediately contacted Greg Hill & Associates. Greg Hill immediately drove to the Torrance Police Station and explained that our client was driven to the store by the loan shark and threatened with serious bodily injury if he did not attempt the theft. The loan shark sat in the car in the parking lot outside the store.

Our client was issued a ticket for public nuisance, Penal Code section 372, in Hermosa Beach. Our client insisted to the police officer that he was not urinating at all, but instead was standing looki ... ng at his phone in a position that could be mistaken for urinating. In fact, when the police officer gave the client the ticket, the client had not even opened his fly or zipper and told the officer this. Moreover, the client had a witness, who was standing nearby smoking. Greg then appeared in court and presented the Hermosa Beach City Prosecutor with a signed declaration from the witness as to the events. The Hermosa Beach City Prosecutor dismissed the case.

Our client was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. The client was a meth addict with a long history of not only convictions for possession and sales of meth, but other crimes as well. However ... , he insisted that in this case, he did not have meth on him or in his car and that the police had fabricated the test results on the roadside using a NIK test result from another person. Greg asked the Orange County judge to order a retest of the evidence and it returned negative for meth.

Our client was accused of twelve misdemeanor counts of criminal threats (Penal Code section 422) and twelve counts of violating a civil restraining order (Penal Code section 166) in the Torrance Superi ... or Court. The alleged victim was an attorney who was having an affair with our client's wife. Greg Hill subpoenaed the phone records of the alleged victim's law firm, which required motions to compel and overcoming motions to quash, to show that none of the alleged phone calls were from our client. This involved looking through tens of thousands of phone numbers in the records over several months. The case lasted for over one year before the Torrance City Prosecutor agreed to dismiss the case when Greg showed that the records impeached the witness' claims of our client calling the law firm repeatedly to threaten the attorney.
