Wonderful Attorney

We attended one of Attorney Sherry Wood's Seminars. She is so knowledgeable and took the time to explain some very complicates issues for us. We had her prepare our estate plan, and she saved our family the perils of Probate. Before meeting Attorney Wood, we had no idea about Probate and that it c...an be avoided completely. She offered us a free service to answer telephone questions as long as we live. We can't say enough wonderful things about her!

Beware

This attorney prepared trust documents for my father, 96 year old blind man, incorrectly and he signed not knowing they were not as he had specified.. Subsequently, was hired by the administrator who did not distrubute the proceeds in accordance with the trust and caused the other siblings financial... and emotional distress. She refused to provided trust documents even though they were requested by siblings' attorney and would not accept certified mailings from siblings.

This is Attorney Sherry Wood. This person that submitted this negative review was never ever my client. As an attorney, I have a duty to represent my clients zealously, therefore, I must name the Successor Trustees and Personal Representatives as my clients want them named. I have found that the Client Parents often know their children much better than I ever could, and they tend to name the child they see fit to hold Successor positions to handle their estate. There are times when some children may be offended--however, my client's decision is what ultimately governs. If there is an instance where a child is angry because he or she wasn't named to manage the estate, said child may want to lash out and blame the Attorney. Sometimes they actually make up a fact pattern that is simply not true. Sometimes, the dishonest folks take advantage of the parent's kindness and take assets that belong to other siblings. An attorney has no desire to name any child over another, especially when she doesn't know the children at all. When I prepare estate documentation, I also make sure that I speak with the parent out of the presence of the children, as I MUST make sure that the parent is not under any duress or influence of the children or anyone else. In addition, when I see the clients again when they sign their documentation, I significantly review again those named to handle the estate, when the parent can no longer do so. There is never an instance when the wrong people are ultimately named, because of this tedious process. When Lawyers practice law, there will always be non-clients that are not satisfied with the attorney's representation. Such non-clients are not part of the representation and often have no idea what is transpiring with the intricacies of the case. Imagine all of the clients on the other side of litigation--of course they dislike the opposing party's lawyer. An Attorney has no duty to make non-clients happy especially if such non-clients behave extremely unreasonably and verbally threaten an attorney. My actual client in the case at hand sent me a wonderful thank you letter for my professionalism and efficient representation. He was very specific and also thanked me for my extreme patience, because of his family issues. If anyone questions my qualifications, integrity and professionalism, simply call me at (941) 926-8896, and I will be glad to provide actual client references--people that I have represented. I consistently have clients that refer me to other clients because of my qualifications, experience and passion for protecting their estates.

Estate Planning Attorney

Attorney Sherry Wood took the time to educate us, and showed us how to avoid costly Probate and Guardianship proceedings. She is extremely knowledgeable and explained the process in terms we could understand. She followed up with all aspects of our plan and continues to answer questions for us when...ever we need her to. We would definitely recommend her. My brother recommended her to us because he was so pleased with her work.
