Jay is representing my wife and it is clearly a conflict of interested on his part. If he was professional he would have told my wife there is a conflict of interest and would have offered her another attorney to represent her but instead he took her retainer and then my info was deleted from the sy...stem at Matt Kowtko office where Jay also has a office. This is clearly a conflict and unprofessional. I contacted Matt after reaching out to two attorney's and telling them my situation and they both advised me to contact Matt and he would be the best person to have represent me. So I called and set up an appointment with Matt and met with him for about a hour talking about my situation with my wife who has been the one supporting our family for 14 years financially while I raised our kids and took care of the house. I also remodeled the house and started a small business that I could do around the kids schedule. I told Matt a lot of very personal stuff about our marriage. He told it sounds like she is getting ready to make a move, I was worried about the kids and the house and her just taking everything from me because she became unhappy about her being the one supporting the family. She told me she didnt want that role anymore and wanted out. After talking with Matt, he advice me that she can't just decide to change the roles like that and that I should not leave the house if asked too, also the kids would be 50/50 so she couldn't take the kids away, and she couldn't just quit working or supporting us that she would have to continue and if we did get divorce there was Alimony that would be possible, so she cant just decide she no longer wants to support us. I call Matt right away and want to get representation from him and was told after looking me up that I would have to go with one of his associates because he wasn't taking on anymore cases. So I talked to a colleague for a hour about what was going on and she backed up everything Matt said and that I had a good case and she couldn't just walk out of all her finical responsibility to the family. My wife told me she didn't want to use attorney's so I said ok I would like to do it peaceful as well, but she wasn't being honest about a lot of stuff my brother an Attorney said dude call the Attorney dude she is trying to manipulate you and sure enough the next day I am served with divorce paper on Saturday I called the Attorney on Monday and all the sudden they have no record of me and I am not in their system. I am like I have to been I just called you and you looked me up right away. She said nope no records of you and I said that is not possible I spoke with 2 attorneys in that office now about my whole case. She asked me what my wife's name was I told her and she said we are representing her, I was very shocked and said that is not possible and she confirmed it. then a few minutes later I get a call from the attorney and she said we cant represent you because of a conflict of interest, I said you have to be kidding after all this I said you cant represent her then because that is a conflict of interest she said you are probably right and said she couldn't say any more. but told me to call Angela Tobaygo and attorney that could help me. So for this reason I would not recommend this law firm at all very shady practices.
