STRONGLY urge you use a different practice and firm.

I went to Mrs. Baker to deal with a child relocation issue. I was originally told by her that it was a $1000.00 non refundable deposit along with a $4000.00 retainer that was refundable. She explained that if my ex was to just sign the release papers that I would recieve the full $4000.00 back. Befor...e 30 days had passed or he had even recieved the paperwork they had already spent $2500.00 and needed me to refill the trust to the $2500.00 minimum. So from the get go I was lied to by Mrs. Baker. Into the second month Mrs Baker was to busy for my case so she assigned Mr. Steve Johnson, a nother lawer within the office. He seemed nice and Laurie said he was a good lawyer, she would assist him in preping the case, and that our case could be heard faster by the court if we used him. In court the opposing counsil cleaned house against Mr. Johnson and Laurie. Mr. Johnson did not stand to address our case at the beginning of the hearing mumbled and studdered in his questions and was so unprepaired that he admittingly forgot to ask important questions when people took the stand. Obviously we lost the relocation case but Steve and Laurie continued to press that we continue to fight even after this embarrassing lose and $15,000.00 already spent. After their poor performance in court due to laziness and their unwillingness to prepair for the case even to the simple point of knowing what question they where going to ask they shamelessly blamed me for the loss because opposing counsil brought up an issue that had nothing to do with myself or my spouse directly. They stated that I was not honest with them because I failed to mention this even though myself nor my current husband where involve nor did we have any knowledge of this going to be brought up. So since it was not dealing with us nor did we anticipate anyone asking about it.They failed to reconize their mistakes and in turn blamed me. I strongly urge anyone needing a lawyer to not use this practice. They are in it for your money and dont care about you or your case. They are misleading, lazy, and bad at what they do. Im sure they win from time to time but that is just the nature of what they do. Of course the people who win will have nice things to say and others will not. However I am not bitter for losing in fact my life is better because of the inability to win but this practice and these attorneys are a joke and way over priced. At least look into other places before sitting down with this practice there are many offices around that dont charge for consultations which at is $300.00. If you care anything about your case and your family I strongly suggest you use another practice.
