I highly recommend Attorney Alex Villatte and the entire team at Ruhl Law. Dealing with criminal charges against my sons was an incredibly difficult and stressful time as a mother, but the support we received made all the difference. Trust this firm

Not sure where to start, but most of the comments below really do summarize the professionalism and legal knowledge this team has. They answer the phones, every time, even after hours and on weekends! Rick Ruhl is incredibility focused, very tactical, and understands the legal process, he is a qui...te force at work. We had started the journey with a different firm, who will not be named, that sold us how experienced they were, suffice it say, they were not at all and only added more stress, confusion, and delay for our family. Our Juvenile (15yo) Son was facing very serious felony charges with the strong possibility of being charged as an Adult, and was in a detention center longer than the state protocol called for. We were frightened and in search of help when we were referred to Rick a month into it with no insight as to when and how he would be handled. Rick took my call on Saturday afternoon, and we retained the firm Monday morning. YES, we were that impressed with his explanation of the challenge and process we faced. We felt a level of understanding that we really were hoping to get in that one-hour meeting. Once retained, Rick saw to it that our son was released immediately to us with an ankle monitor, while Rick and his firm sorted out what could be done with the SA office. Bottom line, in less than 1 month after hiring the firm, Rick was able to mange it so the state dropped all charges! We feel honored and blessed that we found our way to this team, this is not an experience you would wish on anyone, but if you happen to need the help, these guys should be your first call!!!!

Incredible

My son got into trouble, and went to jail. He violated probation, and it didn't look good. We went to speak with him and he explained some options. He went to court and my son came home,and had probation only. It could have been a lot worse. But Rick came in,and saved the day. He's incredible...

Mr. Ruhl is one of the best and most knowledgeable attorneys that I have had the pleasure of dealing with. He expedites his cases in a very timely matter and is very compassionate to all parties included in the case, especially the family members. I have used him in criminal cases and civil cases and... he has always been right there to help get things taken care of with professionalism and respect. I would recommend him to anyone in need of the best criminal and civil lawyer from south florida to long island NY. He has got my cases dropped from D.U.I to reckless driving and twice I had no bond and he was able to get me a bond of 10,000 on one and 20,000$ on the next. They take an oath they don't live by

My husband was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana and we hired Richard Ruhl and Sean Lux. All of my husband's drug tests were negative including and most importantly the one they collected at the sheriff's office. Once those results were recieved as negative, Sean called and said, ..."I know we said we wouldn't take the discrimination case, but we would like to represent him." We signed all the paperwork and their 25% payment fee if they won. This all took place in 2023 and there is only 2 years from the date of arrest that you can file. We went to court on 01/04/2024 and my husband was found not guilty. We left there with Sean saying we will file the paperwork against the CCSO. I called for an update in July 2023 and was told the paperwork had been filed. When I called in August for an update, Richard spoke to me and said that Sean was running for Charlotte County Judge and they wouldn't file until after the election. Also, Richard said that the same cop was just caught in another lie and would help our case. They never filed until 11/07/2024 and Sean won the election and now we had to wait 6 months for the CCSO to respond. I spoke to Richard on 04/11/2025 and he said that he was not a civil rights attorney but would find one for us by 05/07/2025. I called today and Richard said he could find no one to take our case because "everyone loves the cops today." Both Richard and Sean are liars and just goes to show that an honest person is always taken advantage of. I would not send my worst enemy to these people.
