Biography
A fifth-generation Charlotte County native, Kristin L. Polk is deeply rooted in her community. She pursued her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of Florida and subsequently earned her Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law in 2009. Throughout her law school journey, Kristin was an active member of Phi Delta Phi, the international legal honor society. Balancing her education with real-world practice, she worked as a law clerk during her part-time law program.
After a stint at a Tampa foreclosure law firm, Kristin felt the call to return to her hometown of Punta Gorda. Here, she dedicated herself to the intricacies of family law, providing invaluable support to community members navigating delicate situations.
In addition to her legal prowess, Kristin is an active member of the Charlotte County Collaborative Professionals, an organization committed to resolving family law disputes in a harmonious, private, and dignified manner. Each year, she further sharpens her knowledge by attending the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimony Lawyers (AAML) Family Law Review Course. Moreover, her legal offerings are expansive, covering Pre-Nuptial Agreements, Post-Nuptial Agreements, Wills, Health Care Surrogates, and Living Wills.
Carrying forward the legacy of legal excellence, Kristin's father, John L. Polk, a Stetson University College of Law alumnus from the class of 1976, continues to practice law just a block away from her office.
Kristin generously offers her time as a volunteer Magistrate for Charlotte County Baker Acts. And when it's time to recharge, she can often be found with her family at Disney in Orlando or in a cabin in Georgia.
